Again I found this particular meditation quite difficult. I can tell that it is going to take my mind some training to learn to control my thoughts. However with that said I have learned that if I focus on the breathing methods I tend to do better. I found that reading the reading for this week with the hints and points from Dasher really help such as; using the breath as a focal point - I tend to use the rising and falling of my chest in the breathing cycle. I also found that this week I did my practice right before I went to bed when everything was quite and I was able to relax. I found this went better than trying to do it on my lunch break.
I feel that in my life I have impulses that I have to learn to control. I want to do so much better but I keep slipping back into my same routine. I was told the other day that I have to loose weight or I will have a lot of health problems to come. I need to take these practices to learn how to control my impulses as well. I found that these are difficult but there is nothing easy.
Hi Danna,
ReplyDeleteWhen I first started meditating, I had a hard time controlling my thoughts and many times wanted to just say this isn't for me and quit. But with commitment, practice and finding the best time for me I have come to enjoy meditation. It helps me relax and remove negative thoughts and feeling. However, there are still days when I have trouble focusing; usually when I've a very chaotic stressful day.
Sounds like you are on the right track! Keep up the good work! By continuing to focus on your breathing and finding the right time and best place for you to meditate will help you find that inner connection.
Danna,
ReplyDeletethis exercise was a little hard for me too. I have to literally be in a room by myself with nothing on or anything around me because my mind seems to just grasp anything I see, hear or sense. I understand what you mean about trying to better yourself. For me that goes for everything in my life because the way I look at it is that sometimes we as people get too comfortable in situations and lose focus on what we really were meant to seek. You can do it! You will feel so much better. I was told the same thing about my health. After losing 30 lbs. I can tell the difference, maintaining is the hard part. Thanks! I enjoyed reading your blog! Luna
